Trying some pseudo art nouveau.
Been some radio silence for a while, but I am busy prepping for AC.
More of less a taste of what I have been working on.

[update 2.4]
Refined MK2 designs have been separated from the rest, and I’ve been going over them once more, making individual tweaks like raising and enlarging the eyes, or redrawing areas that didn’t have enough definition. I’ve been using a whiteout pen and sharpee to mirror the changes in the sketch. In which case this photo is already outdated.
3 designs also need to be reworked and generally ‘enlarged’ to fit their frames (top left). I was planning to finish them this weekend, but as I look over them with varying degrees of success, I see that the less ‘solid’ designs just need another round.
Ironically, the dragon archetype has been the hardest to pin down (3 separate attempts to date), whereas the ‘bat’ was a one-off and drove the overall style to its present form. Go figure.
Once done, it’s time to vectorize…
Acrylic tags. Laser etch flasks. Leather bound sketchbooks. Syndactyl Arts is ready for FCN 2013. I have about 20 books, 40 flasks, and a handful of species tags. the last four months of work is behind me in boxes.
Design, design, design…
I thought that I would snap a few pictures of a design that I was reworking into it’s second state. One of the largest changes has been working eyes back into the designs, and in a way that gives them some variance while keeping to the same simplicity. I also try to balance out the thickness of the lines better, as certain forms tend to get a little too thin and redundant.
Good weekend to you, denizen of the internet! I’d like to inform you that I’ve spent the past week rebuilding the abandoned ruins of my deviantArt gallery into a workable substrate again. If you’ve got a few minutes (and if you’re reading this, you clearly do), please browse through my many nested folders of nostalgia.
Slowly, yet surely, I’m rebuilding my gallery and my portfolio on dA. It’s been years, and there is far more functionality here than I left it. That said, let’s see how well these new features work…
